Science – Evidence and Investigation


Lesson One – Indigenous Investigation

Focus

Identify the difference between Western and Aboriginal science investigations and to understand and value an Aboriginal investigation model.

  • Recognize evidence of recent human activity, and recognize evidence of animal activity in a natural outdoor setting
  • Recognize that evidence found at the scene of an activity may have unique characteristics that allow an investigator to make inferences
    about the participants and the nature of the activity, and give examples of how specific evidence may be used

Lesson Two – Mirror Lake

Focus

Students recognize that human activity can have long term, devastating effects on the plant life, animal life, birds and insects.

Students recognize that when we cause damage to the land or water, or cause harm to other living beings, we ultimately harm ourselves.
